Belotero Revive

About the treatment

What is Belotero® Revive?

Belotero® Revive is an injectable rejuvenation treatment designed to promote skin hydration and improve elasticity. It also helps to smooth out fine lines and reduce skin pigmentation.

Belotero Revive contains both hyaluronic acid and glycerol. This combination of key ingredients offers an effective formulation that provides enhanced hydration and is particularly effective for treating sun-damaged skin.

Treatment with Belotero Revive focuses on skin hydration and rejuvenation without adding unwanted volume.

Belotero Revive is injected beneath your skin at various sites depending on which area is being treated.

Belotero Revive uses standard injection points to ensure each treatment is safe and avoids potential injury to any underlying blood vessels.

Once injection sites have been marked, treatment takes 15–20 minutes.

Belotero Revive and Profhilo both contain hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in your body that helps to maintain your skin's moisture and elasticity. Belotero Revive also contains glycerol, which helps to further promote water absorption. It’s this combination of key ingredients that creates Belotero Revive's super-moisturising effect.

Belotero Revive is often the preferred treatment option to treat the early signs of sun damage as it deeply hydrates and softens your skin. Profhilo works by stimulating skin cells to produce more collagen and elastin, helping to boost and tighten sagging, ageing skin.

While both treatments improve the skin’s appearance, Profhilo results tend to be more gradual and subtle compared to Belotero Revive. Profhilo's effects develop over several weeks as collagen and elastin production increases, resulting in smoother, firmer and more hydrated skin over time.

For best results, we recommend 2–3 treatments, four weeks apart.

Typically, results from one series of treatments last about 6–9 months. We can discuss recommended ongoing maintenance treatments during your consultation.

As with any injectable treatment, side effects may include redness, bruising, itching, swelling, pain and tenderness. You may also notice small welt-like lumps in the areas that have been injected. These usually settle quickly, but for some people, they may still be visible for a few days after treatment.

If you have an important event coming up, we advise treatment at least 3–5 days prior, to allow any side effects to settle. It’s recommended to avoid anything that can make your blood thinner, such as ginger, garlic, green tea, oily fish, high dose vitamin C and E and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (for e.g. Brufen, aspirin and Voltaren), for two weeks prior to treatment and 48 hours post-treatment.

Like any injectable treatment, it may be slightly uncomfortable. Some people request numbing cream, but most people tolerate the slow injections well.

Belotero Revive is not advised if you:

  • are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • are allergic to hyaluronic acid
  • have an active infection on the area of treatment
  • have keloid scarring on the area of treatment
  • have had any major dental work within three weeks prior to treatment
  • are planning a long-haul flight within one week of treatment.

You can combine Belotero Revive with other treatments, however it’s recommended to wait at least two weeks following Botox.

Chemical peels, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and microdermabrasion are also not recommended two weeks pre or post Belotero Revive treatment.
