Cosmelan® treatment is a two-phase intensive treatment programme. The first step is the application of a highly potent de-pigmenting mask. This is applied in-clinic and washed off at home 8–10 hours after application.

The second treatment phase includes at-home maintenance creams, applied 2–3 times daily for up to seven months to enhance the effects of the mask.

About 2–3 days after treatment your skin will begin to flake and peel for up to two weeks. For the first few days, your face may feel tight and itchy and be slightly red.

Although Cosmelan® treatment is suitable for all skin types, it's not suitable for anyone who has been on Roaccutane in the last 12 months, has cystic acne, open wounds, infection, rosacea, psoriasis or dermatitis in the area to be treated.
