Sunekos

About the treatment

What is Sunekos?

Sunekos is a cosmetic injectable bio-regenerating treatment that uses a patent formula (HY66A) containing Hyaluronic Acid and Amino Acids.

This precise and patented formula triggers the regeneration of the extracellular matrix (ECM) resulting in the production of collagen and elastin.

Sunekos is entirely diIerent to dermal filler treatments that are used to fill an area needing volume and instead focuses on regenerating your skin from within.

BOOK TREATMENT

How: Sukenos corrects and protects the dermis from signs of ageing by stimulating fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin, promoting collagen types IV and VII. bio-regenerating your skin within. It improves the physiology of the extra cellular matrix and supports the function of the fibroblasts. It also reduces the efficacy of naturally occurring hylaronidaise by up to 40%.

Is it a dermal filler? No. Sunekos is entirely different to dermal filler treatments. The hyaluronic acid in Sunekos is not cross linked. Dermal filler is a cross linked HA that is used as an injectable implant to create volume. Sunekos instead is a liquid solution that changes and improves the patient’s own physiology, working as a cell function optimisation product to improve the overall baseline of the patient’s skin.

Difference to other products on the market: Sunekos is a patented combination of amino acids and hyaluronic acid that promotes collagen types IV and VII, crucial for tightening the dermal-epidermal junction. It also significantly stimulates elastin production, which few products can match. While other products contain HA and amino acids, they lack the specific formulation that Sunekos offers, leading to less targeted collagen production. An improper balance of amino acids can result in non-specific collagen formation, unlike the precise stimulation of types IV and VII that Sunekos achieves.

Difference between Sunekos 1200 and Sunekos Performa: The key differences between Sunekos 1200 and Sunekos Performa are 1) the molecular weight of hyaluronic acid and 2) the proportion of amino acids.

Sunekos 1200: Prepares and repairs the extracellular matrix with high molecular weight (1200 kDa).

Sunekos Performa: Regenerates and rebuilds the extracellular matrix with lower molecular weight (up to 200 kDa).

Who: Sunekos is a versatile treatment suitable for both young and mature skin. For younger, elastic, and vital skin, it helps slow down the natural aging process. For mature skin, it reduces signs of aging and promotes the homeostasis of the extracellular matrix to reduce senescence of the cells. Regardless of age, Sunekos enhances the patient’s own cell function by improving the physiology of ECM.

Can I use Sunkeos for volume loss? No – this is not a volumising treatment. It’s not going to replace fat loss (the main reason we lose volume) however, if you are going to treat for volume loss with dermal filler, it is recommended to treat with Sunekos first as this will make the skin tighter and support the natural result and longevity of the dermal filler.

Sunekos is administered through a fine needle or a cannula. The procedure is relatively painless, and a topical anesthetic can be applied before treatment. The treatment normally lasts about 15-20 minutes.

Where can you have Sunekos?: Face, Neck, Decolletage, Eyes, Hands.

Can I use numbing cream?: Yes. It is recommended to use numbing cream prior to treating with Sunekos. Any numbing cream from the chemist or your medical consumable supplier is okay.

How many: It is recommended to have a series of 3 treatments, 14 days (two weeks) apart to achieve optimal results. However, changes will be visible after the first treatment session.

Why two weeks apart? The studies conducted show that two-week intervals are required for Sunekos to work in the most effective way. It is recommend treatments should be repeated no earlier than 10 days and no later than 18 days post the last Sunekos treatment.

Why three sessions? Multiple studies have indicated that a minimum of three sessions is the ideal number of treatments to achieve the most optimal results. Some patients may see results after one or two treatments however, due to lifestyle factors and the individuals aging process, some patients may require more than three treatments to see these same results.

What kind of results: Improvement of skin texture, decrease in wrinkles, increase in skin elasticity (elastin), decrease in skin pigmentation.

How soon: You'll start to see results as soon as 7 - 10 days after treatment, which will improve over time and become more noticeable around 4 - 6 weeks. The improvement of skin quality can be noted after the first Sunekos treatment. The most optimal results however are apparent after the 3rd treatment of Sunekos.

Is Sunekos safe? Sunekos has a favourable safety profile and is made from Hyaluronic Acid and Amino Acids which are substances already present in the human body and over time they are naturally reabsorbed.

Can I get a vascular occlusion? The risk of vascular occlusion is extremely low. The solution is non-crosslinked HA and the amount per site is small (0.1-0.3ml).

What is the downtime? There is minimal downtime with Sunekos and you can resume your normal activities post treatment. Swelling is often the most common side effect and usually shows immediately especially around the eye area if treated. Swelling will go down after 4 - 48 hours.

Can I use Sunekos with dermal fillers? Yes. Where possible we recommend a full Sunekos protocol first, prior to using dermal filler. It is recommended to wait 2-4 weeks post the last treatment of Sunekos prior to having dermal filler or any other cosmetic treatment.

Can I use Sunekos in combination with a Co2 laser? Yes. You can use Sunekos in combination with anything as you are improving cell function. Any treatment like a laser (which relies on a response from the cell to recover from damage), relies on the function being good to start with. It is recommended you improve cell function first with Sunekos as you will get a better result from other cosmetic treatments.

Very soon! Around September/October 2024.

Sunekos containing hyaluronic acid and amino acids is a class III medical device that modifies the structure of mature skin, restoring volume, filling wrinkles and folds in the skin and in scar sites. Sunekos has risks and benefits.

Sunekos should not be used on patients; with known hypersensitvity to any of its components; presenting with a general infection, inflammation or irritation in the area to be treated; or in patients predisposed to coagulation disorders.

A local reaction may rarely occur, caused by hyper sensitisation phenomena, with symptoms that include oedema and sensation of burning and/or itching. These reactions normally resolve within two days.
