About the treatment

What is Blemiderm®?

The Blemiderm Professional System is a professional treatment system and homecare which has been developed specifically for acne-prone, oily, and blemish-prone skins. It is designed as a three-treatment course to retexturise the skin, regulate oil production, reduce breakouts, and minimise post-acne marks.

The Blemiderm® treatment unclogs pores and removes deep impurities to improve your skin’s texture.

The combination of its active ingredients: glycolic acid, salicyclic acid, and mandelic acid provides deep cleansing and renewal of acne-prone skin.

The benefits of Blemiderm® include decreased sebum production, control of bacteria, decreased redness and swelling, and lightened post-acne hyperpigmentation.

Blemiderm® can be used on your face and back.

We recommend starting active skincare about three weeks before treatment. Some people may also benefit from a salicylic chemical peel, to prepare the skin for exfoliation.

On the day of your acne treatment we'll apply a Blemiderm® pre-peel mask for five minutes, to deeply cleanse your skin. We'll then apply the Blemiderm® mask for 10 minutes.

At the end of your acne treatment, we use a crystal fibre mask that uses a combination of hyaluronic, aloe vera, and cucumber to hydrate, soothe, and calm your skin.

Your skin may be slightly red after treatment, but should settle within 24 hours. You may notice slight flaking after 2–3 days; this is a normal response to treatment. Blemiderm® is designed to clear out your pores, so you may experience breakouts for a few days after treatment.

Avoid exposure to natural or artificial light, swimming, spas and saunas for up to 48 hours. We'll recommend the best skincare products for use following your treatment.

For the best results, we recommend three treatments, two weeks apart. If your acne is severe we may recommend up to five treatments.

Blemiderm® is not recommended if you:

  • are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • have a hypersensitivity to aspirin
  • have been treated with Roaccutane in the last six months
  • have a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring, open wounds
  • have recently had radiotherapy.

We recommend waiting two weeks before or after a Covid-19 vaccination to have Blemiderm®, four weeks after stopping Doxycycline and two weeks after stopping St John's Wort.

Please let us know if you're allergic to gluten or lactose, as a patch test is recommended before treatment to ensure there are no adverse reactions.
